Experienced
Engineered Materials Solutions in Attleboro,MA is seeking a Slitter Set-up Operator for a 2nd shift 3-person team. Experience preferred/Basic Math skills required.
Position Summary:
The Slitter Set up person is responsible for working with the Lead Operator and the Apprentice as a team to maintain the safety of the area, meet the required production and quality requirements for the slit material. Responsibilities:
- Review operation schedule and work with the operator planning the day/shift.
- Set-up the off-line head for the next available job on the schedule.
- Switch heads when the job is completed on the on-line head with the off-line head set-up for the next job.
- Assist in the processing of material through slitter (Working with the 3rd hand apprentice when free from setting up the off-line on making tags, strapping coils and planning next job)
- Inspect and release slit material
- Work with slitter operator to adjust slitter to maintain tolerance and customer specification requirements
- Work with team to identify non-conformance material and correct deficiencies
- Read route cards, SOPs and other documents.
- Handle material and package cuts for delivery to next operation
- Use hand-held measuring instruments (Micrometer and Vernier), core cutter, camber bar, and other equipment as needed.
- Other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
- High School or Equivalent
- 1-3 years experience operating related equipment
- Ability to read and write English
- Basic Shop Math skills required
Physical Demands:
- Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs with hoist.
- Standing up to 75% of time
